Nach dem Abitur am [[Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium]] studierte er zwischen 1983 und 1989 Jura in Mannheim. Nach dem zweiten Staatsexamen wechselt er in das Verlagswesen, Zunächst von Juni 1992 bis April 2001 beim Rudolf Haufe Verlag in Freiburg als Segmeitleiter Gesellschaftsrecht, vom Mai 2001 bis November 2006 im WRS Verlag in München als Redaktionsleiter für Wirtschaftsrecht. Im Dezember 2006 Wechsel zum Wolters Kluwer Deutschland GmbH Akademische Arbeitsgemeinschaft Verlag zurück nach Mannheim. Zunächst als Redaktionsleiter Steuern, dann ab Januar 2009 als Programmleiter Finanzinformationen, ab Juli 2001 als Redaktionsleiter Recht und Private Finanzen und seit 2012 als Redaktionsleiter Steuern, Recht und Private Finanzen. Seit Januar 2014 auch als Segmentleiter Verbraucherrecht im Wolters Kluwer Deutschland GmbH in Hürth.<br /> ==James Bond==<br /> Andreas Pott war bekannt für seine Leidenschaft für die Welt von James Bond. Gemeinsam mit anderen gründete er den James Bond Club Deutschland und trug wesentlich zum Aufbau und zur Entwicklung des Vereins bei. Über ein Jahrzehnt war er eine treibende Kraft innerhalb der Bond-Fangemeinde in Deutschland. Aufgrund seines Engagements und seiner Verdienste wurde er zum Ehrenpräsidenten ernannt.<br /> <br /> Am 24. April 2025 verstarb Andreas Pott nach längerer Krankheit in Weisenheim am Berg. Beigesetzt wurde er am 6. Juni 2025 auf dem Herner [[Südfriedhof]].
